H.R. No. 1731 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Jimmy Stallings of Martin County was recognized for his philanthropic work by the Permian Basin Area Foundation at its annual Donor Grantee Reception in Midland on April 20, 2009; and WHEREAS, An accountant with 51 years of experience in the financial industry, Mr. Stallings has long been a leader in his community, generously contributing time and money to foundations and nonprofit organizations in West Texas; and WHEREAS, This caring gentleman played a vital role in the creation of the Martin County Community Funds, a consortium of 12 community funds administered by the Permian Basin Area Foundation, and he has helped review student applications for college scholarships distributed by the funds; and WHEREAS, Mr. Stallings has also contributed his time by serving on the boards of the Midland Memorial Hospital Foundation and Aphasia Center of West Texas; and WHEREAS, The communities of Texas benefit greatly from the generosity and dedicated service of engaged citizens, and Jimmy Stallings may indeed take great pride in his selfless work in behalf of others; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Jimmy Stallings on his well-deserved recognition by the Permian Basin Area Foundation and commend him for his long record of good works; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Stallings as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
