| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Nadyne Harris of The |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Woodlands are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on August |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 6, 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Harris and the former Nadyne Bennight were |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | united in matrimony in Ingleside on that special day in 1949; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | has been made even richer with the addition of two daughters and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | four grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Harris retired as director of safety for Conoco, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and Mrs. Harris worked for Southern Pacific Railroad; the couple |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | are members of the senior Sunday school class at The Woodlands |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | United Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Nadyne Harris on the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
