H.R. No. 1742
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Nadyne Harris of The
Woodlands are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on August
6, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Harris and the former Nadyne Bennight were
united in matrimony in Ingleside on that special day in 1949;
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that
has been made even richer with the addition of two daughters and
four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Harris retired as director of safety for Conoco,
and Mrs. Harris worked for Southern Pacific Railroad; the couple
are members of the senior Sunday school class at The Woodlands
United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Nadyne Harris on the
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Harris as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
