44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
66 by a great and enduring love, Sidney and Betty Henson of Waco
77 reached a significant milestone when they celebrated their 60th
88 wedding anniversary on May 1, 2008; and
99 WHEREAS, Mr. Henson and the former Betty Nell Marlow were
1010 united in matrimony in Fort Worth in 1948; through the years, they
1111 have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer
1212 with the addition of their daughter, Linda Kay Friedholm, and her
1313 husband, David, and their granddaughter, Amber Leigh Malcolm, and
1414 her husband, Todd; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Henson worked for Swift Meat Company for 40
1616 years and retired in 1989; Mrs. Henson retired from ARA Food Service
1717 at Baylor University in 1994; residents of Waco for 52 years, they
1818 attend Primrose Drive Baptist Church; and
1919 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
2020 decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
2121 their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
2222 enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
2323 and optimism; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Sidney and Betty Henson on their
2626 60th wedding anniversary in 2008 and extend to them sincere best
2727 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Henson as an expression of high regard by
3030 the Texas House of Representatives.
