H.R. No. 1799 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Sidney and Betty Henson of Waco reached a significant milestone when they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2008; and WHEREAS, Mr. Henson and the former Betty Nell Marlow were united in matrimony in Fort Worth in 1948; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of their daughter, Linda Kay Friedholm, and her husband, David, and their granddaughter, Amber Leigh Malcolm, and her husband, Todd; and WHEREAS, Mr. Henson worked for Swift Meat Company for 40 years and retired in 1989; Mrs. Henson retired from ARA Food Service at Baylor University in 1994; residents of Waco for 52 years, they attend Primrose Drive Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Sidney and Betty Henson on their 60th wedding anniversary in 2008 and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Henson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
