5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Raymond and Martha Johnson of Waco |

7 | 7 | | celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 14, 2007; |
---|
8 | 8 | | and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Johnson and the former Martha Engelke were |
---|
10 | 10 | | united in matrimony in Waco on that special day in 1937; through the |
---|
11 | 11 | | years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
---|
12 | 12 | | even richer with the addition of a son, Ray; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Johnson worked for Santa Fe |
---|
14 | 14 | | Railroad in California for many years, and Mrs. Johnson was a |
---|
15 | 15 | | dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
---|
17 | 17 | | seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
---|
18 | 18 | | in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
---|
19 | 19 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
---|
20 | 20 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
---|
21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Raymond and Martha Johnson on their |
---|
23 | 23 | | 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |

24 | 24 | | continued happiness; and, be it further |

26 | 26 | | prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by |
