H.R. No. 1802 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Raymond and Martha Johnson of Waco celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 14, 2007; and WHEREAS, Raymond Johnson and the former Martha Engelke were united in matrimony in Waco on that special day in 1937; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of a son, Ray; and WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Johnson worked for Santa Fe Railroad in California for many years, and Mrs. Johnson was a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Raymond and Martha Johnson on their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
