R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas Muslim Women's Foundation was founded for
the empowerment of Muslim Women to make significant contributions
to society through community activism; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception the Foundation has through
various programs sought to ensure the active participation of
Muslim women in all spheres of community life; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation educates Muslim women in their
religious and civic rights, and provides a forum where Muslim women
and girls can voice their needs and concerns; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation provides social services for
families and promotes better societal understanding of Islam; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation is currently working to establish a
shelter for abused women in North Texas; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby thank the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation for
its tireless work on behalf of Muslim Women; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation as an expression
of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
