| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Muslim Women's Foundation was founded for |

| 6 | 6 | | the empowerment of Muslim women to make significant contributions |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | to society through community activism; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception the foundation has through |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | various programs sought to ensure the active participation of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Muslim women in all spheres of community life; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The foundation educates Muslim women in their |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | religious and civic rights, and provides a forum where Muslim women |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and girls can voice their needs and concerns; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The foundation provides social services for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | families and promotes better societal understanding of Islam; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The foundation is currently working to establish a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | shelter for abused women in North Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 19 | 19 | | Legislature hereby thank the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation for |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | its tireless work on behalf of Muslim women; and, be it further |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 22 | 22 | | prepared for the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation as an expression |
