H.R. No. 1810
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas Muslim Women's Foundation was founded for
the empowerment of Muslim women to make significant contributions
to society through community activism; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception the foundation has through
various programs sought to ensure the active participation of
Muslim women in all spheres of community life; and
WHEREAS, The foundation educates Muslim women in their
religious and civic rights, and provides a forum where Muslim women
and girls can voice their needs and concerns; and
WHEREAS, The foundation provides social services for
families and promotes better societal understanding of Islam; and
WHEREAS, The foundation is currently working to establish a
shelter for abused women in North Texas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby thank the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation for
its tireless work on behalf of Muslim women; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation as an expression
of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
