| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned four |

| 6 | 6 | | decades, Jack and Cheryl Burns of Midland celebrated their 40th |

| 7 | 7 | | wedding anniversary on April 12, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Jack Burns and the former Cheryl Moore exchanged the |

| 9 | 9 | | vows of matrimony on that memorable day in 1969, and over the course |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of their marriage, they have found in each other a devoted life |

| 11 | 11 | | partner; today, Mr. Burns is retired from Republic Industries while |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Mrs. Burns continues to work for an independent oil operator; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Burns count among their blessings a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | fine family that includes a daughter, Ashley, and a grandchild, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life; |

| 16 | 16 | | active residents of their community, the couple enjoy membership at |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Crestview Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Looking back over the past four decades, Jack and |

| 19 | 19 | | Cheryl Burns can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |

| 20 | 20 | | know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |

| 21 | 21 | | many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
