55 WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned four
66 decades, Jack and Cheryl Burns of Midland celebrated their 40th
77 wedding anniversary on April 12, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Jack Burns and the former Cheryl Moore exchanged the
99 vows of matrimony on that memorable day in 1969, and over the course
1010 of their marriage, they have found in each other a devoted life
1111 partner; today, Mr. Burns is retired from Republic Industries while
1212 Mrs. Burns continues to work for an independent oil operator; and
1313 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Burns count among their blessings a
1414 fine family that includes a daughter, Ashley, and a grandchild,
1515 with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life;
1616 active residents of their community, the couple enjoy membership at
1717 Crestview Baptist Church; and
1818 WHEREAS, Looking back over the past four decades, Jack and
1919 Cheryl Burns can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
2020 know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
2121 many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2323 Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Cheryl Burns on their 40th
2424 wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2525 continued happiness; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Burns as an expression of high regard by
2828 the Texas House of Representatives.
