 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned four
 decades, Jack and Cheryl Burns of Midland celebrated their 40th
 wedding anniversary on April 12, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Jack Burns and the former Cheryl Moore exchanged the
 vows of matrimony on that memorable day in 1969, and over the course
 of their marriage, they have found in each other a devoted life
 partner; today, Mr. Burns is retired from Republic Industries while
 Mrs. Burns continues to work for an independent oil operator; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Burns count among their blessings a
 fine family that includes a daughter, Ashley, and a grandchild,
 with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life;
 active residents of their community, the couple enjoy membership at
 Crestview Baptist Church; and
 WHEREAS, Looking back over the past four decades, Jack and
 Cheryl Burns can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
 know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
 many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Cheryl Burns on their 40th
 wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Burns as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
