| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Bert and Mary Cosby of Midland |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Bert Cosby and the former Mary Johnson were united |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in matrimony in Big Spring on that special day in 1959; through the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | even richer with the addition of four children, eight |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Cosby |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | enjoy membership at Second Baptist Church; Mr. Cosby is retired |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | from the oil business, and Mrs. Cosby has been a dedicated homemaker |

| 16 | 16 | | throughout their marriage; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |

| 18 | 18 | | half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bert and Mary Cosby on the occasion |

| 24 | 24 | | of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
