55 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
66 by a great and enduring love, Bert and Mary Cosby of Midland
77 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Bert Cosby and the former Mary Johnson were united
99 in matrimony in Big Spring on that special day in 1959; through the
1010 years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made
1111 even richer with the addition of four children, eight
1212 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and
1313 WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Cosby
1414 enjoy membership at Second Baptist Church; Mr. Cosby is retired
1515 from the oil business, and Mrs. Cosby has been a dedicated homemaker
1616 throughout their marriage; and
1717 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
1818 half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
1919 in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
2020 has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
2121 grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2323 Legislature hereby congratulate Bert and Mary Cosby on the occasion
2424 of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
2525 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cosby as an expression of high regard by
2828 the Texas House of Representatives.
