 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
 by a great and enduring love, Bert and Mary Cosby of Midland
 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Bert Cosby and the former Mary Johnson were united
 in matrimony in Big Spring on that special day in 1959; through the
 years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made
 even richer with the addition of four children, eight
 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Cosby
 enjoy membership at Second Baptist Church; Mr. Cosby is retired
 from the oil business, and Mrs. Cosby has been a dedicated homemaker
 throughout their marriage; and
 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
 half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
 in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
 has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
 grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Bert and Mary Cosby on the occasion
 of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cosby as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
