 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Mariah L. Willis is celebrating a significant
 milestone in her life on May 9, 2009, when she graduates from West
 Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in communication
 disorders; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Odessa High School, where she played
 varsity basketball for four years, Ms. Willis has also
 distinguished herself as a member of the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs
 basketball team; moreover, she has participated in the Fellowship
 of Christian Athletes, the Sign Language Club, and the Black
 Women's Association, and she has served as a representative of the
 Student Athletic Association; and
 WHEREAS, This remarkable young woman has been recognized as a
 Community Star, and she is the recipient of three athletic scholar
 academic awards; and
 WHEREAS, A source of pride to her family, Mariah Willis may
 indeed reflect on her academic career with a sense of
 accomplishment and look forward to a future bright with promise;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Mariah L. Willis on her graduation
 from West Texas A&M University and extend to her sincere best wishes
 for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Willis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
