| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Reta and Charles "Shorty" Stone of |

| 7 | 7 | | Robinson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 22, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2007; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Shorty Stone and the former Reta Parrish were united |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in matrimony at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Waco on that special |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | day in 1957; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of three |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | children, Lisa, Ren, and Craig, as well as four grandchildren and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | two great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Stone retired from Darr Equipment in 1996 after |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | completing nearly four decades of valuable service; Mrs. Stone is a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | retired cosmetologist; the couple are active members of Meadowbrook |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Baptist Church in Robinson; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Reta and Shorty Stone on reaching |

| 26 | 26 | | this joyous milestone in their marriage and extend to them sincere |

| 27 | 27 | | best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
