44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
66 by a great and enduring love, Reta and Charles "Shorty" Stone of
77 Robinson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 22,
88 2007; and
99 WHEREAS, Shorty Stone and the former Reta Parrish were united
1010 in matrimony at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Waco on that special
1111 day in 1957; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling
1212 marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of three
1313 children, Lisa, Ren, and Craig, as well as four grandchildren and
1414 two great-grandchildren; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Stone retired from Darr Equipment in 1996 after
1616 completing nearly four decades of valuable service; Mrs. Stone is a
1717 retired cosmetologist; the couple are active members of Meadowbrook
1818 Baptist Church in Robinson; and
1919 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
2020 half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
2121 in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
2222 has enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism;
2323 now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Reta and Shorty Stone on reaching
2626 this joyous milestone in their marriage and extend to them sincere
2727 best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stone as an expression of high regard by
3030 the Texas House of Representatives.
