H.R. No. 1851 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Reta and Charles "Shorty" Stone of Robinson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 22, 2007; and WHEREAS, Shorty Stone and the former Reta Parrish were united in matrimony at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Waco on that special day in 1957; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of three children, Lisa, Ren, and Craig, as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. Stone retired from Darr Equipment in 1996 after completing nearly four decades of valuable service; Mrs. Stone is a retired cosmetologist; the couple are active members of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson; and WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Reta and Shorty Stone on reaching this joyous milestone in their marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stone as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
