| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a |

| 6 | 6 | | century, Clyde Pittman, Jr., and Joyce Pittman of Irving celebrated |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | their 50th wedding anniversary on November 7, 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Natives of the Lone Star State, Clyde H. Pittman, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Jr., and the former Joyce J. Howard exchanged the vows of matrimony |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | on that special day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | they have found in each other a devoted life partner; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pittman count among their blessings a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fine family that includes two children, Craig Howard Pittman and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Clarissa Dawn Pittman, as well as three granddaughters, Ariel |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Lauren Pittman, Emily Dawn Erica Lindsey, and Kate Alicia Grace |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Lindsey; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. armed forces, Mr. Pittman left |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in 1960 for an 18-month tour of duty in Korea, where he served his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | country with distinction; Mrs. Pittman holds a master's degree in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | civic affairs from the University of Dallas, earned the distinction |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of being the first woman elected to the Irving City Council, and has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | taken on key roles with the Republican Party at the local and state |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | levels; a longtime precinct chair, she serves as vice president of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | membership for the Irving Republican Women's Club; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Clyde and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Joyce Pittman can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Joyce Pittman and Clyde Pittman, |
