H.R. No. 1886
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned more
than half a century, Ken and Pat James of Waco celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on June 27, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Ken James and the former Patricia Williams exchanged
the vows of matrimony at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Houston on
that memorable day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage,
they have found in each other a devoted life partner; today enjoying
an active retirement together, Reverend James is retired from the
ministry, while Mrs. James is a homemaker; and
WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. James count among their blessings
a fine family that includes four children, Steven, Tammy, David,
and Jeff, and four grandchildren, Scott, Eric, Reid, and Taylor,
with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life;
and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Ken and Pat
James may reflect with joy on their marriage and know that the
strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more joyful
times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ken and Pat James on their golden
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Reverend and Mrs. James as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
