H.R. No. 1887
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Carl and Dee Rucker of Waco celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on August 9, 2008, and they may indeed reflect
with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; and
WHEREAS, Carl Rucker and the former Dee Boyd exchanged the
vows of matrimony in Erie, Pennsylvania, on that memorable day in
1958, and over the course of their marriage, they have found in each
other a devoted life partner; the couple both work as corporate
chaplains with Marketplace Chaplains USA and enjoy membership at
First United Methodist Church in Waco; and
WHEREAS, The Ruckers count among their blessings a fine
family that includes their two children, David and Debbie, as well
as six grandchildren, Lauren, Ethan, Andrew, Jonathan, Bethany, and
Jessica, with whom they share the many special occasions of life;
and
WHEREAS, For more than half a century, Carl and Dee Rucker
have brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion,
and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Carl and Dee Rucker on their golden
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Ruckers as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
