| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Ruth McKethan of Waco |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Jerry McKethan and the former Ruth Sandifer were |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | united in matrimony at First Baptist Church in Robinson on that |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | special day in 1958; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | addition of their children, Darren and his wife, Lisa, and Kevin and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his wife, Heather, and four grandchildren, John-Mark, Will, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Presley, and Dane; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. McKethan worked as a claims investigator with a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | local truck line before becoming senior partner of McKethan |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Builders, a family partnership in residential construction, and a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Realtor with First Realtors; Mrs. McKethan is a homemaker; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Though innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | world over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Ruth McKethan on their |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |

| 27 | 27 | | continued happiness; and, be it further |
