H.R. No. 1888
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Ruth McKethan of Waco
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Jerry McKethan and the former Ruth Sandifer were
united in matrimony at First Baptist Church in Robinson on that
special day in 1958; through the years, they have nurtured a
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
addition of their children, Darren and his wife, Lisa, and Kevin and
his wife, Heather, and four grandchildren, John-Mark, Will,
Presley, and Dane; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McKethan worked as a claims investigator with a
local truck line before becoming senior partner of McKethan
Builders, a family partnership in residential construction, and a
Realtor with First Realtors; Mrs. McKethan is a homemaker; and
WHEREAS, Though innumerable changes have taken place in the
world over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Ruth McKethan on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McKethan as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
