| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, April 22, 2009, marked the 65th wedding anniversary |

| 6 | 6 | | of Jean and James Pickney of Wills Point, and this joyous event |

| 7 | 7 | | provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | journey together as husband and wife; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pickney were joined in matrimony on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | that special day in 1944; through the years, they have been blessed |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | with a treasured family that includes three children, Sarah, James, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and Edward; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Pickney is retired from his career as a printer, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | while Mrs. Pickney worked for a hospital supply company before her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | retirement; now enjoying their life together as Texans, the couple |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | moved to Wills Point from Arkansas 10 years ago; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The 65 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Pickney |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | have shared are eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | know them; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jean and James Pickney on their |

| 23 | 23 | | 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
