H.R. No. 1895
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, April 22, 2009, marked the 65th wedding anniversary
of Jean and James Pickney of Wills Point, and this joyous event
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable
journey together as husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pickney were joined in matrimony on
that special day in 1944; through the years, they have been blessed
with a treasured family that includes three children, Sarah, James,
and Edward; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pickney is retired from his career as a printer,
while Mrs. Pickney worked for a hospital supply company before her
retirement; now enjoying their life together as Texans, the couple
moved to Wills Point from Arkansas 10 years ago; and
WHEREAS, The 65 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Pickney
have shared are eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
know them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jean and James Pickney on their
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pickney as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
