| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Aurora Corona Solis has been named a 2009 Unsung |

| 6 | 6 | | Hero by the Galveston County Daily News for her outstanding |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | contributions to her community; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, "Dolly" Solis is an active volunteer with The Jesse |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Tree, a program that provides seniors with hot meals as well as help |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | with technology, nutrition, and health-related issues; she also |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | volunteers with the Hospice Care Team, visiting patients and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | providing respite care so their loved ones may have a little time |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | away from their caregiving duties; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A Galveston native, Mrs. Solis lovingly raised a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | family of five while working full-time; even in difficult financial |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | times, she would share meals with neighbors, and she has set a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | wonderful example for her 11 grandchildren and 14 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | great-grandchildren with her kindness and compassion; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and it is a pleasure to honor Dolly Solis, who has enriched the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | lives of countless Gulf Coast residents with her dedicated |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | community service; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Aurora Corona Solis on being named |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | a 2009 Unsung Hero by the Galveston County Daily News and extend to |

| 27 | 27 | | her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
