H.R. No. 2133
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Aurora Corona Solis has been named a 2009 Unsung
Hero by the Galveston County Daily News for her outstanding
contributions to her community; and
WHEREAS, "Dolly" Solis is an active volunteer with The Jesse
Tree, a program that provides seniors with hot meals as well as help
with technology, nutrition, and health-related issues; she also
volunteers with the Hospice Care Team, visiting patients and
providing respite care so their loved ones may have a little time
away from their caregiving duties; and
WHEREAS, A Galveston native, Mrs. Solis lovingly raised a
family of five while working full-time; even in difficult financial
times, she would share meals with neighbors, and she has set a
wonderful example for her 11 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren with her kindness and compassion; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their
time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude,
and it is a pleasure to honor Dolly Solis, who has enriched the
lives of countless Gulf Coast residents with her dedicated
community service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Aurora Corona Solis on being named
a 2009 Unsung Hero by the Galveston County Daily News and extend to
her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important
work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Solis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
