| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Niemann is completing his third successful |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | term on the Addison City Council, and it is appropriate at this time |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | to recognize his distinguished service to the community; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the Addison Citizen Academy, Mr. |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Niemann also completed the Leadership Metrocrest program of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce for Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Branch; prior to his election to the city council, he served on the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Planning and Zoning Commission; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Niemann earned both his bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | computer science and his law degree from The University of Texas at |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Austin; he embarked on a career in technology, working for EDS for |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 23 years and serving as the first chief technology officer of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | e-Rewards, Inc., a successful Internet start-up; in 2004, he was |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | selected as an EDS Fellow in recognition of his innovative |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | leadership; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The holder of two patents, with several others |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | pending, Mr. Niemann currently serves as the senior technology |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | leader for another start-up company, e-Miles; in all his endeavors, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janiece, with whom he |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | has traveled to all seven continents; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Citizens benefit each day from the contributions of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | city council members, whose service can improve the quality of life |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | in a community in innumerable ways; Jimmy Niemann has demonstrated |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | a lasting commitment to making Addison an even better place to live |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and work, earning the gratitude and esteem of his fellow residents; |

| 30 | 30 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby commend Jimmy Niemann on his noteworthy tenure |

| 33 | 33 | | with the Addison City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes |

| 34 | 34 | | for continued success in his endeavors; and, be it further |
