H.R. No. 2157 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Jimmy Niemann is completing his third successful term on the Addison City Council, and it is appropriate at this time to recognize his distinguished service to the community; and WHEREAS, A graduate of the Addison Citizen Academy, Mr. Niemann also completed the Leadership Metrocrest program of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce for Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch; prior to his election to the city council, he served on the Planning and Zoning Commission; and WHEREAS, Mr. Niemann earned both his bachelor's degree in computer science and his law degree from The University of Texas at Austin; he embarked on a career in technology, working for EDS for 23 years and serving as the first chief technology officer of e-Rewards, Inc., a successful Internet start-up; in 2004, he was selected as an EDS Fellow in recognition of his innovative leadership; and WHEREAS, The holder of two patents, with several others pending, Mr. Niemann currently serves as the senior technology leader for another start-up company, e-Miles; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janiece, with whom he has traveled to all seven continents; and WHEREAS, Citizens benefit each day from the contributions of city council members, whose service can improve the quality of life in a community in innumerable ways; Jimmy Niemann has demonstrated a lasting commitment to making Addison an even better place to live and work, earning the gratitude and esteem of his fellow residents; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Jimmy Niemann on his noteworthy tenure with the Addison City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Niemann as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
