| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Gregory S. Hirsch has served on the Addison City |

| 6 | 6 | | Council with great dedication, and as he completes his third |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | successful term, it is indeed fitting to recognize his |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | contributions; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Elected to the council in 2003, Greg Hirsch has held |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the positions of mayor pro tempore and deputy mayor pro tempore; an |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Addison resident since 1995, he became a member of the Board of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Zoning Adjustment three years later, and in 2000 he was appointed to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Planning and Zoning Commission, which he later served as chair; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hirsch also served the city as a member of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 2000 Bond Review Committee, the North Central Texas Council of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Governments Executive Board, and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Citizen Advisory Council, and he also participates in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Metrocrest; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Hirsch is employed as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | a sales manager for SYSCO Food Services and has won national awards |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for his achievements; Dallas Business Journal selected him for its |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 2006 list of "40 Under 40" business leaders on the rise, and he has |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | served on the board of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed civic leader earned both his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of North Texas; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | a life member of the North Texas Exes, he serves on the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | organization's board and has served on the board of the Hospitality |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Management program; he was named the Outstanding Alumnus of the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management in 2007 and has |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | been a member of the President's Council for 10 years; moreover, he |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | shares his expertise with classes as a guest speaker, and he and his |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | wife, Barbara, have supported the school by establishing the |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Gregory S. and Barbara Hirsch Endowed Scholarship; and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, A proud Eagle Scout and father of two, Greg Hirsch |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | exemplifies the spirit of public service, and through his admirable |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | commitment to improving the quality of life in Addison, he has |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | earned the lasting appreciation of his fellow citizens; now, |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | therefore, be it |

| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Legislature hereby commend Greg Hirsch on his noteworthy tenure |

| 43 | 43 | | with the Addison City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes |

| 44 | 44 | | for continued success in his endeavors; and, be it further |
