 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Gregory S. Hirsch has served on the Addison City
 Council with great dedication, and as he completes his third
 successful term, it is indeed fitting to recognize his
 contributions; and
 WHEREAS, Elected to the council in 2003, Greg Hirsch has held
 the positions of mayor pro tempore and deputy mayor pro tempore; an
 Addison resident since 1995, he became a member of the Board of
 Zoning Adjustment three years later, and in 2000 he was appointed to
 the Planning and Zoning Commission, which he later served as chair;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hirsch also served the city as a member of the
 2000 Bond Review Committee, the North Central Texas Council of
 Governments Executive Board, and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit
 Citizen Advisory Council, and he also participates in the
 Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Metrocrest; and
 WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Hirsch is employed as
 a sales manager for SYSCO Food Services and has won national awards
 for his achievements; Dallas Business Journal selected him for its
 2006 list of "40 Under 40" business leaders on the rise, and he has
 served on the board of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association;
 and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed civic leader earned both his
 bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of North Texas;
 a life member of the North Texas Exes, he serves on the
 organization's board and has served on the board of the Hospitality
 Management program; he was named the Outstanding Alumnus of the
 School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management in 2007 and has
 been a member of the President's Council for 10 years; moreover, he
 shares his expertise with classes as a guest speaker, and he and his
 wife, Barbara, have supported the school by establishing the
 Gregory S. and Barbara Hirsch Endowed Scholarship; and
 WHEREAS, A proud Eagle Scout and father of two, Greg Hirsch
 exemplifies the spirit of public service, and through his admirable
 commitment to improving the quality of life in Addison, he has
 earned the lasting appreciation of his fellow citizens; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Greg Hirsch on his noteworthy tenure
 with the Addison City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes
 for continued success in his endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Hirsch as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
