No. 22 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever hold dear their memories of Oscar Neunhoffer of Kerrville, who died on June 27, 2007, at the age of 83; and WHEREAS, Born on December 10, 1923, Mr. Neunhoffer was a graduate of Tivy High School; during World War II he took time from his studies at Texas A&M University to serve his country in Europe; commissioned a lieutenant, he later assisted at the Nuremberg Trials in his capacity as a military policeman; after returning stateside, he graduated from Texas A&M with the Class of 1945; and WHEREAS, Mr. Neunhoffer married Anna Broussard in 1947, and they made their home variously in India, Rhodesia, Kenya, South Africa, and Switzerland, as his career with the Caterpillar Tractor Company took them all over the world; this esteemed Texan worked on such important projects as the construction of the Kiribi Dam in Pakistan and diamond mines in South Africa; he also played a crucial role in delivering equipment for diamond mining and pipeline operations in Siberia; and WHEREAS, At the time of his retirement, Mr. Neunhoffer was president of Caterpillar Tractor SA in Geneva, Switzerland, and vice president of operations in Peoria, Illinois; he concluded his long and highly successful tenure with the company in 1987 and retired with his wife to the Texas Hill Country; and WHEREAS, The richness of Oscar Neunhoffer's life can be seen in his cherished family and friends and in his myriad accomplishments, and he will be remembered with deep fondness by all who were blessed to share in the warmth of his love and affection; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Oscar Neunhoffer and offer sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Anna; to his daughter, Carol; to his grandson, Erik Neunhoffer; to his nephews, Julius and Marvin Neunhoffer; to his grandnieces, Victoria, Heidi, and Katherine Neunhoffer; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Oscar Neunhoffer.
