H.R. No. 2247
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kristina Maria Garza has rendered invaluable
service to the office of Representative David McQuade Leibowitz,
and her 30th birthday on June 12, 2009, provides a fitting
opportunity to recognize her outstanding efforts; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Northwestern University, Ms. Garza
earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and has
since built a notable resume through her work as an adjunct
professor at The University of Texas at Brownsville, law clerk to
Judge Felix Recio, and corporate associate with Kaye Scholer,
L.L.P.; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Garza also gained valuable experience as field
manager for Grassroots Campaigns, Inc., and the Karen Huber
campaign; she currently serves as legislative director for
Representative Leibowitz, and her dedicated efforts have been
beneficial to ensuring the best interests of many Texas citizens;
in all of her endeavors, she has received the support of a loving
family, including her parents, Joe and Nikki Garza and her brother,
Joey Garza; and
WHEREAS, By sharing her expertise on issues and contributing
countless hours of hard work, Kristina Garza has helped to ensure
that the constituents of House District 117 and the citizens of the
Lone Star State are well served; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Kristina Maria Garza on her 30th
birthday and commend her for her contributions to the office of
State Representative David McQuade Leibowitz; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
