55 WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt
66 at the loss of U.S. Army Corporal William David O'Brien of Rice, who
77 died while bravely serving his country on March 15, 2008, at the age
88 of 19; and
99 WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry
1010 Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based out
1111 of Fort Riley, Kansas, Corporal O'Brien was killed while serving in
1212 Baghdad, Iraq; he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal and a Purple
1313 Heart; and
1414 WHEREAS, Will O'Brien was born in Ennis on March 30, 1988;
1515 dedicated to the army, his family, and his friends, he was a
1616 fun-loving young man who enjoyed spending time outdoors and
1717 especially liked playing golf; and
1818 WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
1919 forces, Will O'Brien inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity,
2020 and courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives of his
2121 loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic Texan
2222 close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Corporal William
2525 David O'Brien and extend deepest sympathy to his family: to his
2626 mother, Dawn O'Brien; to his father, Tom O'Brien; to his brother,
2727 John Anthony O'Brien, and his wife, Haley; to his half brothers,
2828 James Michael O'Brien and his wife, Judy, Robert Joseph O'Brien, and
2929 First Sergeant Daniel Shawn O'Brien and his wife, Chiloi; to his
3030 half sister, Michele Leigh Nolan; to his grandfather, Frank
3131 Reznicek; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it

3333 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3434 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3535 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
3636 U.S. Army Corporal William David O'Brien.
