 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The family and friends of United States Army Staff
 Sergeant Brandon Wade Farley of Haworth, Oklahoma, suffered an
 immeasurable loss with the death of this valiant soldier on
 September 18, 2008, at the age of 30; and
 WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry
 Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Staff
 Sergeant Farley lost his life while bravely serving in Afghanistan;
 and
 WHEREAS, Born in Sulphur Springs, Brandon Farley lived in
 Cleburne before moving to Haworth, where he graduated from high
 school; he subsequently fulfilled a desire to serve his country
 when he joined the Marines and later the U.S. Army; after four
 years, which included a tour in Iraq, he reenlisted and was again
 deployed to the Middle East; and
 WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Farley was a beloved son and brother;
 a football fan and avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, shooting,
 and four-wheeling; and
 WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
 forces, Brandon Farley inspired others with his courage, and
 although his passing has left a void in the lives of those who were
 fortunate enough to know him, they will forever carry his memory
 close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Staff
 Sergeant Brandon Wade Farley and extend sincere sympathy to the
 members of his family: to his mother, Sherry Farley; to his father,
 Wade Farley; to his brother, Corey Farley; to his sisters, Ashlyn
 and Lauren Farley; and to his other relatives and many friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Staff
 Sergeant Brandon Wade Farley.
