| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This annual event celebrates the key role that |

|---|
| 10 | 10 | | ventures throughout the world; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, By sharing ideas, contacts, and referrals, sales and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | marketing professionals build a vital foundation for success, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the significance of this process is reflected in the growth and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | popularity of networking organizations; for instance, more than |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 100,000 people in 40 countries are members of Business Network |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | International, and BNI has over 400 participants in South Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | alone; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Through networking groups, entrepreneurs have |

| 19 | 19 | | access to meetings where they can meet potential customers and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | others who can help grow their businesses; in addition, members are |

| 21 | 21 | | able to attend beneficial workshops and trade shows, and they can |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | use the organization's information resources to increase their |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | knowledge and skills; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The prosperity of the Lone Star State depends in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | part on the creation of vibrant and productive business |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | communities; networking contributes to that process by offering |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Texans outstanding opportunities for professional growth and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | fellowship, and this important factor in the state's economy is |

| 29 | 29 | | indeed deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 2 through 6, 2009, as |

| 32 | 32 | | International Networking Week and commend all those affiliated with |
