| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt |

| 6 | 6 | | at the loss of U.S. Army Corporal William Troy Warford III of |

| 7 | 7 | | Temple, who died on September 5, 2007, at the age of 24; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, 215th Brigade |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Corporal Warford was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | based at Fort Hood and served as a track vehicle repairer; deployed |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in October 2006, he was mortally wounded in Iraq; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Billy Warford was |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | born in Marlin on September 13, 1982, to William T. Warford II and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Jere Lindsay Warford; he went on to marry the former Shea Berry on |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | March 25, 2000, in Temple, and he joined the U.S. Army in September |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 2004; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Beloved by many, Corporal Warford brought joy into |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the lives of his family and friends; a devoted Catholic, he was also |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | a proud Texan and an ardent Longhorn football fan; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | servicemen and servicewomen, whose love for their country inspires |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | them to take up military service, and their dedicated efforts and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | enormous sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | respect and gratitude; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | forces, Corporal Warford inspired others with his fortitude, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | tenacity, and courage, and those who knew him will forever hold his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Corporal William Troy |

| 31 | 31 | | Warford III and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |

| 32 | 32 | | family: to his wife, Shea Warford; to his children, Anthony and |

| 33 | 33 | | Aubrie Anna Warford; to his parents, Jere Warford and William T. |
