| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt |

| 6 | 6 | | at the loss of U.S. Army Reserve Corporal Dustin Ryan Brisky of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Round Rock, who died on June 14, 2007, at the age of 26; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Corporal Brisky was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | born in Austin on June 8, 1981; he graduated from McNeil High School |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in 1999 and began his military tenure five years later; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, In October 2006, this courageous young Texan |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | volunteered to go to Iraq so that he could serve beside his fellow |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | soldiers; he was mortally wounded while serving in Tallil, Iraq; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | servicemen and servicewomen, whose love for their country inspires |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | them to take up military service, and their dedicated efforts and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | enormous sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | respect and gratitude; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | forces, Dustin Brisky inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and courage; although his death has left a void in the lives of his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | loved ones, they carry their memories of him close in their hearts; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Corporal Dustin Ryan |

| 27 | 27 | | Brisky and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to |

| 28 | 28 | | his mother and stepfather, Karen and Bob Baker; to his father, Bob |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Brisky; to his brother, Nicholas Baker; and to his other relatives |

| 30 | 30 | | and many friends; and, be it further |
