| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Nine auto mechanics students from Crane High School |

| 6 | 6 | | won great distinction for themselves and their school at the annual |

| 7 | 7 | | SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Championships in Corpus |

| 8 | 8 | | Christi in April 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Part of SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | organization for trade and technical students, Texas SkillsUSA is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | made up of more than 1,000 chapters representing nearly 15,500 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | student and professional members across the Lone Star State who are |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | enrolled in trade, technical, industrial, and health occupations |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | programs; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Competing students were required to rebuild an |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | engine head, alternator, or starter to professional standards and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to submit reports documenting their efforts; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Dustin Allaire, Daryll Grammer, and Ramon Velasco |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | each earned a perfect score of 100 and a blue ribbon; also earning |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | first place were Ernesto Alvarez, Clint Day, Dana Harvey, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Carley Young; Jacob Lowery and Daniel Padilla earned second place |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for their projects; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The students of Crane High School have indeed made |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | an impressive showing at this highly competitive event, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | establishing themselves as a tremendous source of pride for their |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | school, families, and community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the students of Crane High School |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | on their victories at the SkillsUSA Texas championships and extend |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | to them sincere best wishes for continued success and a bright |
