H.R. No. 2356 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Nine auto mechanics students from Crane High School won great distinction for themselves and their school at the annual SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Championships in Corpus Christi in April 2009; and WHEREAS, Part of SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization for trade and technical students, Texas SkillsUSA is made up of more than 1,000 chapters representing nearly 15,500 student and professional members across the Lone Star State who are enrolled in trade, technical, industrial, and health occupations programs; and WHEREAS, Competing students were required to rebuild an engine head, alternator, or starter to professional standards and to submit reports documenting their efforts; and WHEREAS, Dustin Allaire, Daryll Grammer, and Ramon Velasco each earned a perfect score of 100 and a blue ribbon; also earning first place were Ernesto Alvarez, Clint Day, Dana Harvey, and Carley Young; Jacob Lowery and Daniel Padilla earned second place for their projects; and WHEREAS, The students of Crane High School have indeed made an impressive showing at this highly competitive event, establishing themselves as a tremendous source of pride for their school, families, and community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the students of Crane High School on their victories at the SkillsUSA Texas championships and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and a bright future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
