| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Ollie and Leta Hartgroves of McGregor |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2007; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ollie Earl Hartgroves, Jr., and the former Leta Bell |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Cupp were united in matrimony on that special day in 1957 at North |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Waco Baptist Church, and through the years, they have nurtured a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | addition of their children, Tammie Hartgroves, Janie Barton and her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | husband, Carl, Lawrence Hartgroves and his wife, Lori, and Thomas |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hartgroves and his wife, Kay, as well as seven grandchildren, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Samantha, Christopher, Lauren, Lindsey, Laci, Justin, and Jacob, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and a great-granddaughter, Shelby; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hartgroves served in the U.S. Marine Corps from |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 1957 to 1960, retired as director of finance with the U.S. Postal |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Service, and currently owns Hartgroves Tax Service in Waco; Mrs. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Hartgroves retired as a teacher at Bell's Hill Elementary School |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and is a member of the Laureate Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Phi Sorority; the couple are active in the Hewitt Lions Club, where |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Mrs. Hartgroves became the first female member in 1992, and are |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | members of the First Baptist Church of Woodway; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Ollie and Leta Hartgroves on their |

| 32 | 32 | | 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
