 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
 by a great and enduring love, Ollie and Leta Hartgroves of McGregor
 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2007; and
 WHEREAS, Ollie Earl Hartgroves, Jr., and the former Leta Bell
 Cupp were united in matrimony on that special day in 1957 at North
 Waco Baptist Church, and through the years, they have nurtured a
 fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
 addition of their children, Tammie Hartgroves, Janie Barton and her
 husband, Carl, Lawrence Hartgroves and his wife, Lori, and Thomas
 Hartgroves and his wife, Kay, as well as seven grandchildren,
 Samantha, Christopher, Lauren, Lindsey, Laci, Justin, and Jacob,
 and a great-granddaughter, Shelby; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hartgroves served in the U.S. Marine Corps from
 1957 to 1960, retired as director of finance with the U.S. Postal
 Service, and currently owns Hartgroves Tax Service in Waco; Mrs.
 Hartgroves retired as a teacher at Bell's Hill Elementary School
 and is a member of the Laureate Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma
 Phi Sorority; the couple are active in the Hewitt Lions Club, where
 Mrs. Hartgroves became the first female member in 1992, and are
 members of the First Baptist Church of Woodway; and
 WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
 world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife
 have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
 strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
 and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Ollie and Leta Hartgroves on their
 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hartgroves as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
