 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Bennice and LaVerne Johnson of Woodway celebrated
 their 50th wedding anniversary on July 25, 2007, and they may indeed
 reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
 and
 WHEREAS, Bennice Johnson and the former LaVerne Meeck
 exchanged the vows of matrimony in Palestine, Texas, in 1957, and
 over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a
 loving life partner; Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Army, taught at
 Huntsville High School, and worked for CertainTeed and Temple
 Products before retiring as a safety coordinator at
 Lochridge-Priest; Mrs. Johnson retired after 27 years of service to
 CertainTeed Federal Credit Union; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson count among their blessings a
 fine family that includes their children, Craig Johnson and his
 wife, Holly, and Keith Johnson and his wife, Brenda, as well as
 three grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Dean, with whom they
 share the many special occasions of life; the couple are members of
 Peace Lutheran Church, work with the Lutheran Braille Workers, and
 serve on several church boards; and
 WHEREAS, For half a century, Bennice and LaVerne Johnson have
 brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
 is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Bennice and LaVerne Johnson on
 their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
