 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, James E. Epperson, Jr., of Rocksprings ably served
 the people of Edwards County as a county commissioner for 11 years,
 and his dedication and expertise have earned him the respect of many
 people along the way; and
 WHEREAS, Serving as commissioner for Precinct 3 from 1997
 through 2008, Mr. Epperson distinguished himself by helping to
 improve the retirement program for Edwards County employees and by
 working with the Texas Department of Transportation to upgrade the
 Edwards County Airport; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan played an important role as well
 in the construction of the much-needed Edwards County Annex, which
 provided more office and courtroom space, and in the improvement of
 the financial standing of the county while also lowering the tax
 rate over the long term; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Edwards County, Mr. Epperson continues
 to ranch on land settled by his grandparents in the early 1900s, and
 his retirement has allowed him to spend more time managing that
 business; with his tenure as a public servant behind him, James
 Epperson may take great pride in his exemplary record of
 achievement and in his many contributions to area residents; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend James E. Epperson, Jr., on his three
 successful terms as an Edwards County commissioner and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Epperson as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
