| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The city of Garland has greatly benefited from the |

| 6 | 6 | | dedicated leadership of District 6 council member Barbara Chick; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure in municipal government, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Councilwoman Chick has ably guided the city with an eye to the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | future, and her knowledge and expertise in a wide range of community |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | issues have earned her the respect of many people along the way; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, This notable North Texan is currently serving her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | second term, and she is working to help her district benefit from |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the city's redevelopment goals; a valued Garland resident since |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1950, she is retired from her position as a bank assistant vice |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | president; she has also given back to her community as a member of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Plan Commission and the West Area Plan Implementation |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Committee; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Chick is supported in all her endeavors by her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | husband, Don, and their two children; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Barbara |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Chick is helping to make Garland an even better place in which to |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Councilwoman Barbara Chick for her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | outstanding service on the Garland City Council and extend to her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
