H.R. No. 2465
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The city of Garland has greatly benefited from the
dedicated leadership of District 6 council member Barbara Chick;
and
WHEREAS, During her tenure in municipal government,
Councilwoman Chick has ably guided the city with an eye to the
future, and her knowledge and expertise in a wide range of community
issues have earned her the respect of many people along the way; and
WHEREAS, This notable North Texan is currently serving her
second term, and she is working to help her district benefit from
the city's redevelopment goals; a valued Garland resident since
1950, she is retired from her position as a bank assistant vice
president; she has also given back to her community as a member of
the Plan Commission and the West Area Plan Implementation
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Chick is supported in all her endeavors by her
husband, Don, and their two children; and
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Barbara
Chick is helping to make Garland an even better place in which to
live and work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor Councilwoman Barbara Chick for her
outstanding service on the Garland City Council and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Chick as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
