H.R. No. 2471 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Andrea Chavez has provided indispensable support to the office of Representative David McQuade Leibowitz in her position as an intern during the current legislative session; and WHEREAS, Ms. Chavez is a participant in the Frank Madla, Jr., and Irma Rangel Legislative Internship Program; in its inaugural year, this notable initiative offers outstanding students of St. Mary's University an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with the Texas Legislature; and WHEREAS, A native of Chihuahua, Mexico, Ms. Chavez graduated from Coronado High School in El Paso; she is currently studying political science and economics at St. Mary's, and after graduation she plans to attend law school; in her free time, she teaches reading and writing in Mexico and enjoys working on her family's ranch and playing tennis; and WHEREAS, Ms. Chavez is blessed with a loving family that includes her parents, Katana Urtaza Hernandez and Alfredo Armando Chavez Fernandez, and her three siblings, Katana Alexandra, Alfredo Andres, and Miguel Eduardo Chavez, all of whom look forward to wishing her well on her 20th birthday on June 5, 2009; and WHEREAS, By sharing her unique perspective on issues and contributing countless hours of hard work, Andrea Chavez has helped to ensure that the constituents of House District 117 and the citizens of the Lone Star State are well served, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Andrea Chavez for her contributions to the office of State Representative David McQuade Leibowitz and extend to her sincere best wishes for a very happy 20th birthday; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Chavez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
