H.R. No. 2477
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Beverly and Norvan Bourland
celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bourland were united in matrimony in
Nocona in 1943; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling
marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of two
children, Scott and Page, as well as a grandson, Scott, a
granddaughter, Jennifer, and three great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Midland since 1966, Mr. Bourland
retired from Mobil Oil Corporation in 1984, and Mrs. Bourland is a
homemaker; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past 66 years, this devoted husband and wife have
remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Beverly and Norvan Bourland on
their 66th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bourland as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
