| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Anthony M. Brown of San Antonio has earned great |

| 6 | 6 | | distinction by being named a scholar finalist in the National |

| 7 | 7 | | Hispanic Recognition Program for 2008-2009; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board, the National |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Hispanic Recognition Program honors those Hispanic students who |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | score well on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Test and who maintain a satisfactory grade point average; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is a senior at John Marshall High School, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | where he has been a member of the varsity football team and the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | National Honor Society, as well as a District All-Academic nominee; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he plans to attend The University of Texas and earn a master's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | degree in computer science; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in his |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | life, Anthony Brown may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | achieved and look with anticipation toward a bright and promising |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | future; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Anthony M. Brown on his selection |
