55 WHEREAS, Anthony M. Brown of San Antonio has earned great
66 distinction by being named a scholar finalist in the National
77 Hispanic Recognition Program for 2008-2009; and
88 WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board, the National
99 Hispanic Recognition Program honors those Hispanic students who
1010 score well on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying
1111 Test and who maintain a satisfactory grade point average; and
1212 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is a senior at John Marshall High School,
1313 where he has been a member of the varsity football team and the
1414 National Honor Society, as well as a District All-Academic nominee;
1515 he plans to attend The University of Texas and earn a master's
1616 degree in computer science; and
1717 WHEREAS, Soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in his
1818 life, Anthony Brown may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has
1919 achieved and look with anticipation toward a bright and promising
2020 future; now, therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2222 Legislature hereby congratulate Anthony M. Brown on his selection
2323 as a scholar finalist in the 2008-2009 National Hispanic
2424 Recognition Program and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2525 continued success; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2828 House of Representatives.
