H.R. No. 2490 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Anthony M. Brown of San Antonio has earned great distinction by being named a scholar finalist in the National Hispanic Recognition Program for 2008-2009; and WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board, the National Hispanic Recognition Program honors those Hispanic students who score well on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test and who maintain a satisfactory grade point average; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is a senior at John Marshall High School, where he has been a member of the varsity football team and the National Honor Society, as well as a District All-Academic nominee; he plans to attend The University of Texas and earn a master's degree in computer science; and WHEREAS, Soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in his life, Anthony Brown may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has achieved and look with anticipation toward a bright and promising future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Anthony M. Brown on his selection as a scholar finalist in the 2008-2009 National Hispanic Recognition Program and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
