5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Sergeant William |

6 | 6 | | Wayne Crow suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this |

7 | 7 | | valiant soldier on June 28, 2007, at the age of 28; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to Alpha Company "Outlaws," 2nd Battalion, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 16th Infantry Regiment, Sergeant Crow served as a Fire-Team Leader |
---|
10 | 10 | | with the 2nd Platoon; he lost his life while bravely serving his |
---|
11 | 11 | | country on his third tour of duty in Iraq; a squad leader and |
---|
12 | 12 | | infantryman, he had previously served in Korea; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Highly decorated throughout his career, Sergeant |
---|
14 | 14 | | Crow was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal with |
---|
15 | 15 | | Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army |
---|
16 | 16 | | Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, to name but a few; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, William Crow was devoted to his wife, Michelle, a |
---|
18 | 18 | | graduate of Abilene High School, and their children, Christopher, |
---|
19 | 19 | | David, Alexis, and Kayla, and when he was home on leave, he enjoyed |
---|
20 | 20 | | swimming, watching movies, and playing video games with his family; |
---|
21 | 21 | | and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's |
---|
23 | 23 | | servicemen and servicewomen, whose courageous efforts and enormous |
---|
24 | 24 | | sacrifices are deserving of the deepest respect and gratitude; |
---|
25 | 25 | | through his unwavering dedication to duty and honor, Sergeant Crow |
---|
26 | 26 | | embodied the highest ideals of the United States armed forces, and |
---|
27 | 27 | | those who knew this brave and compassionate soldier will forever |
---|
28 | 28 | | hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
---|
29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant |

31 | 31 | | William Wayne Crow and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |

32 | 32 | | family: to his wife, Katherine Michelle Crow; to his children, |

33 | 33 | | Christopher, David, Alexis, and Kayla Crow; to his mother, Kathryn |
